Short answers to the questions people email us about. Everything Chatcove does stays on your Mac.
Do I have to connect my iPhone every time?

Why does Chatcove need an encrypted backup?
Section titled "Why does Chatcove need an encrypted backup?"WhatsApp is only included in an encrypted iPhone backup. Chatcove sets a strong password for you and saves it on this Mac. Details: what the backup password is.
I forgot my iPhone backup password. What now?
Section titled "I forgot my iPhone backup password. What now?"Reset it on the iPhone with Reset All Settings. It removes the backup password without deleting your data or messages. Then back up again in Chatcove. Follow the forgot-password steps.
Chatcove says the saved password does not match. Why?
Section titled "Chatcove says the saved password does not match. Why?"The iPhone's backup password changed after Chatcove saved it, often after a phone reset or a password set in Finder or on another computer. See saved password does not match.
My iPhone is not detected. What should I check?

The backup is slow. Is it stuck?
Section titled "The backup is slow. Is it stuck?"Probably not. A first backup usually takes 10 to 60 minutes, depending on how much is on the iPhone, and it can sit quiet for several minutes after the passcode. Keep the phone unlocked and plugged in. Later backups usually transfer only what changed and are much faster. See backup stuck or slow.
